Palace were the better team throughout and there were very few positives for manager John Owens to take from the game.
Owens said: "We were 2-0 down at half time and we were up against it to say the least and it could have been a lot more.
"We were better in the second half when Joxer (John-Paul Kelly) scored following a right wing cross from David Mannix, but we let them score a third near the end.
"I was pleased with some phases of our play but we have an attack minded midfield and sometimes that leaves you vulnerable to counter attacks."
