Under 18's beaten

The Baggies got a measure of revenge after Liverpool had knocked them out of the FA Youth Cup at the Hawthorns back in December, by recording a 1-0 win at the Kirkby Academy.

The Reds struggled to adapt to the conditions and gave their worst performance in a while as they were deservedly beaten.

"It was an awful game and we got what we deserved, nothing," Academy coach John Owens told liverpoolfc.tv.

"We were very poor and that is one of the poorest performances from us I can remember for a while. We will have to be a lot better against Reading in the FA Youth Cup on Friday night.

"Charlie Barnett missed a good chance when he was clean through and Michael Collins headed straight at the keeper but we just didn't get going in the game."
