Under 18's beaten again

After earning their first win of 2005 with a good performance against Everton in the week, The young Reds were hopeful of a good result against the Mackems. However, defensive mistakes and an inability to score goals cost them once again.

Coach John Owens said: "There was a tiredness from our game Thursday and we contributed to our own misfortune defensive wise.

"Sunderland went 1-0 up following a careless pass from Adam Hitchen then he conceded a penalty in the second half from which they scored. It certainly wasn't one of Adam's best games that's for sure.

"We had chances but like I have said before our problem this season has been scoring goals."
