Under 18's draw

Liverpool gave debuts to trialist midfielder Joseph Mills and goalkeeper Josh Mimms, the son of former Everton goalkeeper Bobby who played against the Reds in the 1986 FA Cup final.

Mimms had a decent game and made a few saves that got Liverpool a well earned draw and earned him the praise of coach John Owens.

"I couldn't say we deserved to win the game but I was happy with the performance and a draw was a fair result," Owens told the club's official website.

"Josh Mimms did very well on his debut so I was pleased with him and I gave a chance to some of the younger players in the squad who did well.

"It has been a good season and winning the youth cup tops it."

The victorious FA Youth side did a lap of honour at Anfield during half time in yesterday's first team game with Aston Villa.
