Under 18's draw

The mini-mini derby finished goalless at the Academy on Saturday morning as the under 18's continue to look for that elusive first win. Once again the Reds played well enough but are still failing in front of goal.

"I felt we did very well and I was happy with the performance but we are still finding it a problem to put the ball into the net," Academy coach John Owens admitted to the club's official website.

"We had the chances to win it through Paul Barratt, Ray Putterill and then Michael Collins shot over the bar from 10 yards out in the last minute. We will keep working at our finishing in training.

"I also think our problem this season has been not attacking crosses that come into the box. We get into good positions in wide areas and get good crosses into the opposition box but we are not attacking the ball enough. We need to improve on that."
