Under 18's progress

The under 18's had a difficult draw in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup, away against Leicester City, a team that had hammered the Reds 3-0 in the league earlier in the season.

Liverpool were awesome at the Walkers Stadium though and utterly destroyed the Foxes 5-1. The tie was all but over after 35 minutes thanks to a Laurie Dalla Valle hat-trick.

David Ngoo crossed for Dalla Valle after six minutes and his header gave the Reds an early lead. Two minutes later Christopher Buchtmann's inital shot was saved by the keeper before Dalla Valle slotted in the rebound.

Leicester did hit back and came very close to pulling one back on the quarter hour mark when a free-kick cannoned back off Dean Chamberlain's post. It was to prove a costly miss.

Thomas Ince ran through the Foxes' defence with ease on 31 minutes before calmly shooting past the keeper for 3-0. Four minutes later it was 4-0 as Dalla Valle completed his hat-trick.

The Reds continued to press in the second half even though the game was won and created some good chances for Ngoo. It was Leicester who scored first after the interval however, pulling a goal back on 68 minutes.

The game was wrapped up in the 85th minute when Ngoo finally got the goal he deserved.
