The Reds were unbeaten in eight games but that run came to an end against the league leaders at the Academy on Saturday.

Liverpool were 1-0 down after only three minutes after they failed to clear a free kick. The ball stayed in the Reds' penalty area and the City striker slotted home for 1-0.

The Reds then began to play some nice football and could have equalised through Marvin Pourie but unfortunately the striker was unable to get power behind his header after meeting a Mattone Awang cross.

Liverpool continued to play nice football and take the game to Man City so the second goal, right on the stroke of half time was a blow. City won the ball in their half, counter attacked at pace and made it 2-0 at the interval.

Man City wrapped the points up twenty minutes from the end when they made it 3-0 from another set-piece.
