Liverpool took the lead in the second half yesterday through a debut goal from Michael Nardiello before Cardiff equalised. However, Jimmy Ryan scored the winner with ten minutes remaining to give John Owens' side the perfect start to the new season.
Owens said: "I am obviously very pleased with the win and to get off to a good start but we didn't play that well. We didn't show what we are really capable of but that will come."
