Charlie Barnett and Craig Lindfield put the Reds 2-0 up before Crewe pulled one back and began to push for an equaliser. However, Liverpool managed to break and Conal Platt put the game beyond Crewe's reach with a well taken third.

The well deserved win keeps Liverpool in touch with leaders Blackburn Rovers at the top of the table.
