Under 18's win

After a poor start to the season the under 18's have at last found their goalscoring form and are getting the results their overall play has deserved. Saturday's victory over stoke was a case in point.

Midfielder Ryan Flynn almost gave the Reds the lead early on but he volleyed a couple of good chances over the bar. Flynn was merely getting his range however, and after half an hour he scored the opener when he met a Putterill cross with a diving header.

The Reds started the second half like they'd ended the first, in total control of the game. Craig Lindfield and Jay Spearing both came close to adding a second as Liverpool created chance after chance.

Flynn doubled Liverpool's lead midway through the second half with another header, this time from a Lindfield cross and almost had a hat-trick but saw his shot come back off the post.

It was Lindfield who scored Liverpool's third moments later when he intercepted a poor backpass, beat the goalie and stroked the ball home into an empty net.

The Reds go into tonight's FA Youth Cup game with West Brom full of confidence after their weekend's performance.
