Under 18's win

The Reds beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Saturday thanks to two goals from Marvin Pourie and one from Gary MacKay Steven. David Amoo linked up well with Pourie for the first while the second was due to good build up work from Steve Irwin and Mattone Awang before Sean Highdale crossed for Pourie to head home. Amoo also played in MacKay Steven for his goal.

"I am quite pleased with the lads' performance, particularly after the first match. But we have moved on. There are obviously still things to be worked on, but it was good to get that first win," said coach Hugh McAulley.

The attitude was excellent, we passed the ball around well and created good opportunities to score. The commitment and attitude was first-class from the start and that is the first thing I demand of teams. In the second half we needed to keep the ball a bit better, keep possession more, and make them work a bit more.

"We were chasing after more goals when really we didn't need to. But to be fair we still created good opportunities and may have scored more."
