The under 18's beat Wolves 4-1 away from home on Saturday thanks to two goals from David Amoo and one each from Nathan Ecclestone and Gary Mackay-Steven.

The Reds went 1-0 down early on but were level at the interval thanks to a powerful strike from Amoo. Then in the second half Liverpool ran riot.

"Each of the goals came as a result of some really nice football. The team is still relatively new but we're really showing signs of gelling well," under 18's coach Hugh McAulley told the club's official website.

"There were also some exceptional individual performances on the day from the likes of Amoo and Eccleston, as well as the two lads in midfield - Astrit Ajdarevic and Sean Highdale. The captain Steven Irwin is also doing very well at the moment, so we have some real prospects."
