Under 18's win the derby

Paul Barratt gave Liverpool the lead after 26 minutes but it was short lasted, with Everton equalising after 30 minutes. Everton had started the game stronger and were worthy of their leveller.

It was a different story in the second half however, with John Owens' side in control throughout. James Frayne scored what was to be the winner eleven minutes after the break.

The result still leaves Liverpool bottom of the league but the team's performance, especially the four players promoted from the highly successful under 16's side, gives much cause for optimism.
