The defender is widely tipped to join Liverpool after both he and his parent visited Anfield earlier this year, but it now seems that Manchester United are chasing the youngster, one of the most coveted in Europe.

And Senderos revealed that he was a guest during Manchester United's 5-3 win over Newcastle at the weekend, personally invited by Alex Ferguson.

But the race isn's won yet however, with Senderous anxious to see both Liverpool and Bayern Munich before his 'heart' makes a decision.

Speaking to planetfootball about his visit to Manchester, he said: "I was sat just behind the injured players.

"There was Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Rio Ferdinand. For the purpose of the game I had been presented to Alex Ferguson."

But at the same time Senderous voiced his frustration at the intrusion of teh media, he also revealed that he'll visit Liverpool and Bayern before coming to a decision as to who he wants to join.

"To be honest if I was you I would not write anything, this is not very interesting", he told Swiss journalists.

"I must go to see Mr Hitzfeld and Liverpool. It is the heart that will speak. Equally the sporting aspect."
