Vignal substitution explained

Vignal came on as a substitute for Emile Heskey in Liverpool's game with Spartak Moscow but played only 21 minutes of the game before being taken off himself in favour of Igor Biscan.

"Once we went 2-1 up, I knew at the end Spartak would try long balls and attack us with set-pieces," admitted Houllier. "Igor is tall and good in the air and I thought it would be helpful to us, that is all."
