Villa bid unlikely

Liverpool have been linked with Villa for a while, especially after he was spotted in the Director's Box for last season's game against Bolton. However, he was merely there as a friend of Pepe Reina and is unlikely to join the Reds after insisting he wants to stay at La Mestalla.

"My wish is to stay here. Not only this year but in the future because I am under contract and I hope I can extend it. In any case, we will have to wait and see what happens this summer," said Villa.
