Villa delude themselves

Aston Villa were linked with Milan Baros in a £3m move before Euro 2004 and now the tournament is over they still believe they can sign the player for £3m, according to today's Daily Mirror.

Baros was considering leaving Liverpool if Gerard Houllier had remained in charge but the Czech star has said he will stay at Anfield to see if he is part of Rafael Benitez's future plans.

Villa cannot offer Baros UEFA cup football next season never mind the chance to participate in the Champions League.
