Villa need to win both their remaining games and hope Liverpool and Newcastle slip up somewhere if they are to take fourth spot for themselves but Angel believes his side are capable of taking advantage should such an opportunity arise.
"We have nothing to lose," said Angel. "No one outside the club expected us to be in this position, especially earlier in the season when we were struggling.
"It has turned around very quickly and we have made a lot of progress. Games which we were drawing or losing before we are now winning.
"The pressure is not on us because it is already a surprise for a lot of people that we are even in a position to challenge for Europe.
"For other teams there is more expectation and it is a big disappointment for them if they do not qualify. They are supposed to do well but that does not make any difference when you only have two games to go.
"It would be fantastic for us to get into Europe. It would be fantastic for the club to achieve this after a long time and great for the players and the manager.
"It is a great opportunity. If we win our last two games then we must have a very good chance."
