Villa to get tough over Barry

Manager Martin O'Neill and owner Randy Lerner have met to discuss the situation and are determined not to lose their captain.

They blame Rafael Benitez for unsettling the player and still await Barry's response to their request for him to stick it out at Villa Park.

Liverpool's offer of £10million plus a player swap remains, but it is believed that O'Neill will refuse any offer less than £15 million.
"This is a big, big season coming up," said O'Neill. "We don't want to lose out captain and top player when we are trying to put everything in place to drive the club forward."
