The Reds needed to beat Spurs at Anfield to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive admitted Lucas after two goals from Dirk Kuyt had helped them do just that.
"It was a really important win. We knew before the game that we had an opportunity to get just one point behind Tottenham and be close to the top four," said the Brazilian.
"We know this season has been not so good but we have to keep this momentum and attitude and we had talked about it in the dressing room before hand.
"We need to make sure we keep the intensity up that we showed against Stoke and Tottenham; if we do that, we will be there at the end, for sure.
"We will keep fighting for the top four. Sometimes it is difficult to play with intensity and Tottenham try to keep the ball; they have good players."
