Vital win says Carra

Liverpool closed the gap between themselves and Chelsea to five points after comfortably beating the London team 2-0 on Saturday. The win was a vital one said impressive defender Jamie Carragher.

"It was a very good and important win for us. We needed a good start and we did that with the early goal then Jermaine put us 2-0 up and that gave us a lot of confidence," said the Reds' vice-captain.

"We knew Chelsea would come back strong in the second half but we defended well and more than matched them and might have scored more goals in the end."
