Warnock expecting tough game

Liverpool can move up to second in the table, if only for a few hours, if they beat Wigan in tomorrow's early kick-off. However, Stephen Warnock says the Reds mustn't underestimate Paul Jewell's side.

"It won't be an easy game against Wigan on Saturday and I have to say they have done very well this season. Paul Jewell has got them very organised and Stephane Henchoz is playing fantastic for them alongside De Zeeuw at the back," warns Warnock.

"If you look at their strikers they are lively and are always going to score goals. The midfield is good as well so you look at the team and overall they are a very strong team. I think they have surprised a lot of people and many think they are a surprise package, but once you look at them and see how they play I don't think they are a surprise.

"They will have a point to prove after losing their last two Premiership games but then in a way they will be coming to Liverpool thinking we don't want to lose a third game.

"It's dangerous for both teams in a way because if they come here and try and play negatively then hopefully we can take advantage of that. If they come out all guns blazing and take the game to us they will be thinking they can cause an upset.

"However all we are concerned about is getting three points and keeping up our good form."
