Warnock given Anfield hope

The 21-year-old, who is equally adept at left-back and the left-side of midfield, had been expected to make his year-long loan at Highfield Road permanent following an impressive season on the Midlands.

Warnock's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season and Gerard Houllier has now indicated that the youngster's displays in the nationwide league could earn him a new deal.

Houllier said: "We would like to bring him back. I'm sure the club will be talking to him. The reports say he has done very well at Coventry."
