Warnock had a minor hernia operation last week which meant he was unable to travel with the squad to Switzerland and will miss out on Liverpool's next three pre-season games at least.
The lay-off is a blow to Warnock who would want to impress Rafa Benitez after being told he is still a part of the manager's plans.
