Warnock: We are not a dirty side

The Reds boss left Brammal Lane incensed by a challenge by Michael Brown on Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland. Warnock, though, says he has proof from the FA to back his claims that his side are amongst the fairest in the country.

Warnock said:"I know Michael Brown's tackle on Chris Kirkland has been brought up quite a lot.

"But I do think some people forget that our disciplinary record this season has been almost flawless and that we have, I think, been second in the Fair Play League.

"Only last week we received a letter from the FA disciplinary committee complimenting us on our improvement this season."

Warnock, though, has played down his sides chances of leaving Anfield with a place in the Worthington Cup final.

He added: "I'm sure we'll be in for a hot reception, but it's all experience for my youngsters.

"I suppose to go to Liverpool, when your team has cost £600,000, you haven't much chance have you?

"If we get hammered on Tuesday night then I won't give a damn as long as we perform and try our hardest.

"As I've said, a £100million team against one that cost £600,000, it's going to be a miracle if we beat them twice.

"If they play to their full potential then they will beat us, and if we don't play to ours then we will get battered, so we know what to expect. But we will go there and enjoy it and give it our best shot."
