The defender's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of this season, when his loan spell at Highfield Road ends.

But he is hopeful that he could return to Anfield and get first team football.

"Gary McAllister approached me when he was in charge and said he was interested in signing me and the new manager has come and said the same and hopefully we can get something sorted out, if the situation is right," said the 22-year-old.

"Obviously, I would be interested but I need to speak to Liverpool and see what my situation is there.

"If there is a chance of playing at Liverpool, no-one can pass that up.

"One of the reasons I came to Coventry was to get first-team games and hopefully impress enough to get a chance at Liverpool.

"This is a great club to be involved with but if the chance comes to stay at Liverpool, I would have to take it.

"But if Liverpool don't want me, I would have thought Coventry would be my first choice if no other Premiership clubs come in because I love the place."
