Warnock's goal delight

Warnock scord his first ever goal for the club when he hammered home the fifth in Liverpool's 5-1 demolition of Fulham last Wednesday. Afterwards he spoke of his delight in scoring for the team he has supported all his life.

"I was overjoyed to score my first Liverpool goal, and to do it in front of the Kop was special," said the Academy graduate.

"I must admit that when Peter Crouch and me were sitting on the bench still with 10 minutes to go, it didn't look like we would both end up scoring.

"All of a sudden we are both on and both on the scoresheet. That was a dream at the Kop end, and something I will enjoy for a while.

"It was good to see the goals shared around. As long as the strikers score it boosts their confidence. It was a perfect night for them with Djibril coming on to make chances, everybody contributed.

"It builds up everyone's confidence and sends them into the next game in a good frame of mind.

"There have been times when we should have beaten teams convincingly, and it hasn't happened. We have been on the end of games when we have lost and shouldn't have, but for a change it all came together."
