Liverpool have closed the gap between leaders Chelsea and themselves from 37 points last season to 15 points this time around. Liverpool have already earned 15 points more than they got for the whole of last season, with three games still left to play.

Steven Gerrard has warned the rest of the Premiership that the Reds are set to improve even further next season and challenge for the title.

"We have progressed a lot in the last year. The gap was 35 points last season, this time around we are better than half that," said the Liverpool captain.

"We have got a fantastic manager who is going to continue to build. But Chelsea are a fantastic team. Manchester United and Arsenal are going to come back strong next year too.

"Tottenham have a great young side as well. The Premiership is getting more and more exciting."
