Welsh linked with Sunderland

Welsh has been told by Rafael Benitez he has no future at Anfield and was not part of Liverpool's squad that faced Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday.

Welsh almost joined Sunderland on loan the last time they were in the Premiership but missed out after picking up a knock in a reserve game.

Liverpool are expected to put ask £1.5m for Welsh.
