Welsh set for Anfield exit?

With exciting right-back Jon Otsemobor joining high-flying Bolton until the end of the season, and fellow Melwood graduates Stephen Warnock and Neil Mellor already loaned out to Coventry and West Ham respectively, the Reds boss has admitted that Welsh could also gain valuable experience at another club.

Houllier said: I have to think about the player's interests. Steve Finnan and Jamie Carragher are back so it will be difficult for Jon (Otsemobor) to get regular football at the moment. This will help his career.

"It will be a good experience for him which will also be useful for him in the future. I am also hoping John Welsh may also be able to get out on loan soon because he is in a similar situation."
