It will replace the two clocks currently situated inder the match control room between The Kop and the Centenary Stand.

"In conjuction with Carlsberg, we have commissioned the replacement of the clocks in digital format," Liverpool's safety officer Ged Poynton told the club's official site.

"The new scoreboard will contain a countdown clock as the match unfolds, a clock showing the current time and, of course, a board showing the latest score. There will also be room for team announcements and special messages.

"All being well, we hope to have it in use in time for the Manchester United game next month."

Is this a good move?
