Wigan confident of Kirkland deal

The goalkeeper is out of favour at Liverpool and has been told he can leave. Kirkland was going to sign for West Brom after spending last season on loan there but the Baggies' relegation from the Premiership has put paid to that deal.

Wigan have expressed an interest in Kirkland and claim they will sign the goalkeeper when Rick Parry returns from holiday at the end of the week.

Wigan are confident of getting Kirkland on a season long loan with the option to buy after the twelve months are up.
