Win pleases Ablett

A Craig Lindfield goal meant the Reds won their first reserve league game of the new year and after the game Gary Ablett spoke of his delight with the result.

"We played very well in our friendly with Leeds last week and we told the players that we didn't want to fall below that level which we carried that on with this performance," the reserve coach told the club's official website.

"It was a physical game but over the 90 minutes I felt we did very well and the players fitness levels were outstanding. That is down to our fitness coach Antonio Gomez who has been doing a fantastic job with the players.

"We got the ball down and played some good football and I felt we were very unfortunate not to have won 3-0 or 4-0 with the chances we created in the second half.

"Craig scored a superb goal and he is capable of doing that and we just wish he would do it a bit more often. He got behind the full back and it was a fantastic finish and he deserved it because he worked very hard."
