Xabi hopeful of making cup final

Alonso was subsituted before half time yesterday after falling akwardly and injuring his ankle. The midfielder will have a scan today but Rafael Benitez says Alonso is confident he will recover before the Reds play West Ham.

"Xabi thinks he will be fit for the final but we will have to wait and see what the result of the scan says," he said.
 
"The pitch was a little uneven and it is a problem with his right ankle but we will just have to wait."
