Xabi to sign new deal

Alonso has only two years left on his contract and under the new regulations he can buy out his contract and become a free agent this Summer. However, the midfielder says he loves Liverpool and is ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.

"It's great to be a part of Liverpool. I like it here. The fans have been amazing throughout the campaign. They did their bit. Sadly we couldn't give them the win they deserved," he said.
