The midfielder believes that if Liverpool can put together a decent run of form they can quickly move up the table into the top four.
"We need to win three or four games in a row and try to get our confidence back up," Benayoun told the club's official website.
"We always seem to win one, but then we don't follow it up with a result in the next match. We need to keep working hard in training and try to start winning, beginning against Wigan. We know we need to be in the top four and that is our target.
"If we can do that and have a good run in both cups our season will improve."
