Yossi rumour denied

One of the sleazy Sunday papers claimed Benayoun, who only signed a new four year deal in the Summer, would leave Anfield for Eastlands once the transfer window re-opens. However, the story is nonsense.

"Naturally a player playing well at Liverpool will always have other teams interested in him," said Benayoun's agent, Ronen Kastav.

"It is a great compliment that there is interest from high level teams across Europe but Yossi is very happy at Liverpool and only in the summer agreed a new four-year contract."
