Youth team looking forward to cup run

John Owens' side will be hoping to become the first Liverpool youth side to make it into the next round for four years.

If Liverpool progress they will meet Spurs in round four at home but for now Owens is concentrating soley on the Wealdstone tie and will not under estimate his non-league opponents.

Owens said: "I have watched a couple of Wealdstone's matches and they are a very well organised and disciplined side. They can play good football and they have played five games so far in this competition so they have earned the right to play us.

"We realise we have a game on our hands and Wealdstone played very well in their last match against Farnborough.

"During my time with Altrincham I have been involved in a few cup upsets in the past so I know what can happen and I have told our boys that.

"I've said to the boys that the positions of our first team compared with Wealdstone is immaterial. Hopefully it will lift our players getting the chance to play at Anfield and I just hope they don't freeze."
