Dave Shannon's under 17's side are at home to Crewe in their final game of the season hoping to finish on a five game unbeaten run.

John Owen's under 19's team hope to consolidate second place with a home win over Sunderland today and that the players who have been released end their Liverpool careers on a high note.

Liverpool Under-19 boss John Owens said: "We would obviously like to finish as high as possible. We are keen to do as well as we can in the league as a team, but from now the main focus has to be to sort out the players who are leaving.

"So we may have to do without those players in some of the games left. But Academy football is about development and individual players. So many of the results now may be very different to what has gone before. Even the strongest teams may not longer have their players.

"We will sort out where each player wants to go, but they have to watch they don't spend too much time at one club and then find it ends in a negative."
