Zenden hopes for central role

The injuries to Momo Sissoko and Xabi Alonso means Zenden will partner Steven Gerrard in the centre of Liverpool's midfield against Man City tomorrow.

"Obviously we're all here to play. The manager likes to rotate," said Zenden.

"One day you play in the Champions League, then you don't play in the league and then you play in another competition.

"In a way you just have to wait your turn. When you do get a chance you've got to do the job.

"That's why we're here. We've got a good big squad and I'm sure we'll be able to cope with any problem that comes at us.

"We look at the results we've had and the points we've won away from home and it isn't that many.

"We're all disappointed with that but we look at the positives in that the games we have played away from home have not been the easiest ones.

"We've worked really hard in training to make sure we assess the problems that we've had.

"It's not that we've been playing bad football, it's just that we haven't been able to win games.

"We do have the confidence, we have to stick together and work hard to make sure we do get the results we want because we're not happy at all.

"Every game that we're winning could be the setting up of a good run.
People like to point out the fact that we haven't won away from home in the league but we're confident we can do it."
