Zenden raring to go

Zenden is eagerly awaiting the start of the new season. The Dutch midfielder joined Liverpool from Middlesbrough in the Summer of 2005 but only played a handful of games for the Reds before picking up an injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Zenden is now fully fit again and has been playing in all of Liverpool's pre-season friendlies. The midfielder is desperate for the new campaign to begin so he can make up for lost time.

"It feels like a new start at Liverpool this season after being injured for eight months. These friendly games have been really good for me to get back into fitness and playing again," he said.

"With the hard training sessions and tough games, it's done me good. I took a bang on my knee in the Grasshoppers match and although it was a scary moment, it felt alright. Now I'm looking forward positively to the start of the season."
