Gerard Houllier has made a huge mistake by releasing Nicolas Anelka. He is a fantastic striker with brilliant pace and strength. He can deliver the goods and he was available on the cheap, especially when you take into account his low wage.

Yes Nicolas Anelka is a good player but he failed to deliver while with us. There is much more to this than meets the eye. In my opinion Gerard Houllier had no intention of signing him and I think he just wanted him as cover. The boss knows what he is doing and in Diouf we have a real talent who is after all at the World Cup finals!
It was interesting reading the article on Kop Talk recently that said Michael Owen deserved more support from the Kop. He receives criticism for wanting to play for England but surely any professional wants to represent his country just like Beckham does but do people question his loyalty at Old Trafford? No, they support him regardless.

Sensible comments Jason. Michael doesn't receive the backing he deserves, probably because he was in the shadows of Robbie Fowler when he broke through. Obviously Robbie has gone now so now is his chance to capture the hearts of all Liverpool fans. We are lucky to have such a talented player at Anfield.
We never sign any big name players. Why can't we sign proven players instead of scraping the barrel?

No wonder you missed the target with such stupid comments. United bought Veron and paid something around £28million - what does he offer them that they didn't already have? What about Hyypia, Riise and Vignal? Brilliant players that cost next to nothing. Those kind of purchases seperate the good managers from the brilliant managers.
