Liverpool’s poor run continued as two goals by Facundo Sava helped Fulham beat the Reds 3-2 at Loftus Road.

The Argentinian scored his first goal in the fifth minute after Sean Davis’ long-range drive had been parried by Jerzy Dudek.

Jean Tigana’s side doubled their lead in the 38th minute when Davis scored with a 25-yard effort that took a deflection on its way past the wrong-footed Dudek.

Liverpool had their chances in the first half but finally grabbed a goal back in the 62nd minute when Dietmar Hamann hammered home a spectacular free-kick.

The game seemed to be turning Liverpool’s way but Sava restored Fulham’s two-goal cushion with a fine shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The match seemed to be won but Liverpool were given a lifeline with 20 minutes left when Alain Goma was sent off for a second bookable offence when he hacked down Michael Owen.

Milan Baros scoring a second for the visitors with four minutes left but it was too little too late for Gerard’s Houllier’s side.

for Liverpool in the 86th minute, the home team had to endure a frantic finale before claiming the points.

Fulham remain in the bottom half of the table but they have now won four of their Premiership games at Loftus Road.

Meanwhile, Liverpool remain one point behind Arsenal who also lost today, and have now gone four games without a victory
